A suburb of Denver, Greenwood Village is in Arapahoe County, Colorado. Its history reaches back to the 1860s, when settlers began moving into the area looking for gold. By the early 1900s, the area had developed into an agricultural region, primarily cherries, apples, apricots, plums, and pears. When the settlement became a town, it took its name from the Greenwood Ranch, as much of the town was built on land that had been part of the ranch.
