Dover is the county seat of Kent County and the capital of the State of Delaware with an approximate population of 36,000. It is the only state capital in the United States protected by a volunteer fire department. Dover Air Force Base which houses the only U.S. Military mortuary in the continental United States is located within the city limits. Manufacturing facilities in Dover include Playtex, General Mills, and Procter & Gamble.
