The city of Bonita Springs is situated in Lee County, Florida. The Spanish word “bonita” means pretty, and the springs there were considered pretty due to the local belief that they had curative powers. In 1936, two brothers established the Everglades Wonder Gardens, which came to be the area's biggest attractions. The town was established in 1999.
