Jacksonville Beach is a city in Duval County, Florida. While it is an independent city, with its own municipal government, its residents vote in Jacksonville mayoral and city council elections. First established as "Ruby Beach" in 1883, the community was renamed "Pablo Beach" in 1886. Its name was changed to "Jacksonville Beach" in 1925, but it is often referred to as "Jax Beach".
