Plant City, in Hillsborough County, Florida, was originally named Ichepucksassa, which was the Indian village once located in the area. Because of the complicated name, it was renamed Cork, which was the postmaster's home in Ireland. It was finally named in honor of Henry B. Plant, who ran a railroad which boosted the economy of the city.
