West Palm Beach is the oldest incorporated municipality in South Florida. It is situated in Palm Beach County and was originally called "Westpalmbeach." but changed from one to three words after the fear that a town with a 13-letter name would be unlucky. It is a partaker in the vast tourist industry in the area.
