Incorporated in 1908, the origins of Kingsland go back to 1788, when John King bought a large parcel of land west of the Saint Marys. William King, a great-grandson, later built a home there. In 1893, the first passenger train was routed across King's property and, as King's house was the only one in sight, the railroad company named its new station "Kings Land". It is located in Camden County, Georgia.
