The unincorporated community of Camp Springs, Maryland is situated in Prince George's County. It was settled in the 1860s with a few houses, a blacksmith shop, Methodist Church, and several stores. Originally called Allentown, after one of the founding families, the Allens, but when the post office came to town was changed to Camp Springs because the soldiers who traversed the area enjoyed the relaxing springs in the area. Andrews Air Force Base is nearby.
