Woburn, Massachusetts, in Middlesex County, was settled in 1640 and incorporated just two years later in 1642. Parts of Winchester, Wilmington and Stoneham were included, and all three communities separated from Woburn in the 1700s. It was named in honor of Woburn, Bedfordshire.
