As in most Michigan villages and cities, churches were formed early in the history of the community. A mission began there in 1926 developed int a Presbyterian congregation, the first recorded religious group in Allen Park. This congregation is currently known as the Allen Park Presbyterian Church, founded in 1932.

Early churches sometimes met in schools until dedicated church buildings were constructed. St. Frances Cabrini held services in public school buildings from 1947 to the late 1950s, when a church was built.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church was built on the corner of Wick and Niver Roads in 1952, and Trinity United Methodist Church held its first services in a new church building on Allen and Reeck Roads in 1953, while the Allen Park United Presbyterian Church was completed in 1940.

Today, Allen Park is served by several places of worship. These include, but are not necessarily limited to, Allen Park Church of Christ, Allen Park Nazarene Church, Allen Park Presbyterian Church, American Hungarian Reformed Church, Angelica Lutheran Church, Bethesda Baptist Church, Crosspoint Free Will Baptist Church, Gilead Baptist Church of Allen Park, Grace Church, Inter-City Baptist Church, Mount Hope Lutheran Church, Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, Southfield Road Baptist Church, and Southpoint Church.

There are probably others, and some of these may have closed, merged, or changed names. However, websites representing any church, temple, mosque, or any other place of worship in Allen Park is appropriate for this category.
