Belmont is an unincorporated community in Plainfield Township, Kent County, Michigan.

The hamlet is situated on the north banks of the Grand River, at the point where the Rogue River flows into the Grand.

The community lacks defined boundaries, but it is generally accessed through Exit 95 off of US Highway 131. Routes through the community include M-44, Cannonball Road, Post Drive, Rogue River Road, and West River Road. The unincorporated community of Alpine is 4.7 miles to the west, the city of Rockford is 5.5 miles northeast, Grand Rapids is 9.5 miles south, and the village of Sparta is 9.8 miles northwest of Belmont.

Settled in the mid-1800s, a post office was established on November 11, 1869, with Truman H. Burch as the first postmaster. Its post office is still in operation. The Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad established a station stop in Belmont in 1870, with George N. Reynolds as the railroad agent. On June 29, 1874, the village was platted and recorded, but never incorporated.
