Boon, Michigan is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Boon Township, Wexford County. It is situated in the Manistee National Forest.
The chief route through the village is South 23 Road, which runs north-south through the center of the community. West 32 Road forms its northern boundary, West 34 Road forms the southern boundary, Seasonal Drive forms the western boundary, and South 25 Road forms the eastern boundary. Other routes include Boon's Crossing and Chandler Road.
Selma is 4.4 miles to the west, Harrietta is 6.4 miles west-northwest, and the City of Cadillac is twelve miles east of Boon.
Boon became a station on the Toledo, Ann Arbor & Northern Michigan Railroad in 1888, and the village was platted in 1889, although it was never incorporated as a village. A post office was established on December 19, 1899, with Joseph Matveia as postmaster.
