The focus of this portion of our guide is on attractions, events, sports programs, entertainment venues, and recreational programs in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
While Crystal Falls is not exactly a tourist attraction, the city is situated in a beautiful area with a lot to offer residents and visitors, particularly those who are interested in local and Upper Peninsula history or the outdoors.
The city is surrounded by the Nicolet National Forest and its woodlands, lakes, and waterways. The Paint River flows through the city, as does Briar Hill Creek, Dunn Creek, and Waterworks Creek.
The Paint River is a 52-mile waterway that is popular as a canoe route, and trout fishermen might be able to take brook trout, brown trout, and rainbow trout out of the river. The waterway is attractive to people interested in several types of fishing, as well as for wading and navigation by kayak or canoe.
Runkle Lake is a 76-acre body of water on the eastern edge of the city. About 50-feet deep at its deepest point, fishermen can find a variety of fish within the river, including bluegill, largemouth bass, rock bass, northern pike, walleye, and yellow perch. Runkle Lake Park includes camping and picnic areas, tennis courts, ball diamonds, a soccer field, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a fishing pier, and a boat launch.
As US-2 and US-141 pass through the city limits, access to the city is easy for people from the surrounding region, which includes Northern Wisconsin.
