As Kalamazoo is home to several large businesses and industries and educational institutions, and the city hosts a number of annual events that bring people into town, as well as museums and other attractions, including collegiate sports, there are places for people to sleep during their stay, whether for a night, a few days, or longer. Built in 1895, Henderson Castle was designed in a Queen Anne style by C.A. Gombert for Frank and Mary Henderson. Situated one block from Kalamazoo College, it now serves as a full inn, with a restaurant, organic garden, vineyard, and day spa, as well as offering ten guest rooms.

The Kalamazoo House was built for David and Amelia Lilienfeld, of the D. Lilienfeld & Brothers Cigar Company, in 1878. The Victorian home became Kalamazoo's first hotel by the end of the 19th century. With six guest rooms, the Stuart Avenue Inn, located in the Stuart neighborhood, north of Kalamazoo College, is a classic bed and breakfast facility. More than a century old, it features six guest lodging facilities.
