The focus of this section of our guide is on hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, vacation rentals, recreational vehicle parks, and campgrounds in Traverse City, Michigan.

Traverse City's location on both the West Arm and the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay, as well as on Boardman Lake, is likely to bring vacationers and tourists into the city, particularly during the summer months.

Cherry Capital Airport, Northwestern Michigan College, Great Lakes Maritime Academy, the Boardman River Nature Center, the City Opera House, the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, and several historical structures, situated within the city, can also be expected to bring visitors to Traverse City.

Much of the city's economy is based on tourism, and the city sponsors or hosts several events throughout the year. These include the Traverse City Film Festival and the National Cherry Festival, both of which attract visitors to the city.

In order to meet this need, Traverse City is home to several guest accommodations, particularly bed and breakfast (B&B) facilities. These, as well as other short-term guest rentals, such as hotels, motels, and vacation rentals, are appropriate for this category.

Long-term rentals, like apartments, condominiums, and assisted living facilities, would be listed in the Property Sales & Rentals category rather than this one, however. This category is for rentals in which the renter would be considered a visitor to the city, or a guest, rather than a resident.
