Operated by Six Rivers Land Conservancy, the Drayton Plains Nature Center in Waterford Charter Township has four miles of walking trails, an interpretive center and indoor meeting room, a pavilion, twelve picnic tables, charcoal grills, and old fish hatchery ponds. More than one hundred and seventy different species of birds have been recorded on the property. The grounds are open from dawn to dusk, while the buildings are open seasonally. Waterford Township Historical Society, The
Formed in 1975, the non-profit organization operates the Waterford Historic Village, an interpretation of Waterford's place in history, with some of its buildings being original, others being exact replicas, and others being representations of what the buildings would have looked like in the early 1900s, all set in Fish Hatchery Park along the Clinton River. The history of the Society and Village is told, its museum buildings are highlighted, and membership information is provided.
