Places to stay while visiting the Watersmeet, Michigan area are the focal point of this portion of our guide.

As Watersmeet is in the middle of the Ottawa National Forest, and proximal to the Sylvania Recreation Area, the Sylvania Wilderness, the Cisco Chain of Lakes, and the Lac Vieux Desert. Watersmeet is also near the Upper Peninsula of Michigan's border with Wisconsin and the Nicolet National Forest, so the area is popular year-round with outdoor recreationists.

Abandoned railroad beds have been transitioned into snowmobile and ATV trails, which are also used for horseback riding, hiking, and biking. Others come to the area to fish, hunt, or simply to camp. Cross-country skiing is popular in the winter, along with snowshoeing and ice fishing. There are also several lakes in the Watersmeet area.

The Lac Vieux Desert Indian Reservation is in Watersmeet Township, and it serves as a land base for the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, who have resided in the area since the 1700s, and now operated a casino adjacent to the Watersmeet CDP area.

People coming to the area on vacation or for recreational purposes will find several guest accommodations in Watersmeet, most of them being lakefront vacation cabins or resorts, although there are also mom-and-pop motels, a rustic historic hotel, and a large casino complex, as well as wilderness tent camping and RV camping.
