Built in 1890, the First Congregational Church served the Robbinsdale community for seventy-five years. The church added a gymnasium, an auditorium, and a reception hall.

Dr. Donald Colp was called to serve as the pastor of the First Congregational Church in 1902. He began studying medicine in 1908 and opened a medical practice in Robbinsdale, serving as a physician and surgeon for more than forty years.

In 1957, the First Congregational Church's parent body, the Congregational Christian Church, merged with the Evangelical and Reformed Church, to create the United Church of Christ. Although the Robbinsdale church supported to merger, it wasn't until 1961 that the membership voted to adopt the UCC constitution, and it wasn't until 1992 that its members voted to change the church's name to the Robbinsdale United Church of Christ.

Also in 1958, the church began construction on a new church building on Lake Road, only a couple of blocks from its original site, where it now is.

In 1961, the old First Congregational Church was sold to another church group, but a few years later it was demolished to make room for a filling station.

The first church building for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church was dedicated on Christmas Day in 1911. Its first resident pastor was Father William H. Blum, who came from Buffalo, Minnesota. A rectory was built in 1914. That same year, the church building was enlarged and resurfaced with red brick. A school was added in 1926, and a convent in 1927.

In 1957, the church began collecting funds to build a new church on the corner of Hubbard and 41st Avenues North, where the old Elwood Hotel once stood. Construction was completed by Christmas Day in 1958, while the old building was converted into a parish hall.

In 1923, construction on a Lutheran mission church began at 41st Avenue North and Regent Avenue North. The church was dedicated as the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on April 20, 1924. Its first pastor was the Rev. H.L. Paul.

Elim Lutheran Church was founded in 1922, and its first services were held in the Robbinsdale Village Hall. The congregation began building its first church on 40th Avenue North and West Broadway Avenue in 1924. The original building was expanded in 1951, and enlarged further in 1960. Still in operation, Elim is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Established in 1943, Faith-Lilac Way Lutheran Church is located on 42nd Avenue North and Welcome Avenue North. It continues to serve the community as part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Faith-Lilac Way is also a member of the WILDFIRE Churches.

Formally organized in 1950, Olivet Evangelical United Brethren Church actually opened its doors in 1947. The church first held its services in a remodeled home at 43rd and Beard Avenue North. In 1950, the church was formally organized and work began on a church building at 43rd and Chowen Avenue North.

In the late 1950s, Olivet merged with Hope Evangelical United Brethren Church of Minneapolis, forming a larger congregation meeting at Robbinsdale. A sanctuary and offices were added to the building during the 1960s. In 1968, the church's name was changed to Olivet United Methodist Church, a result of the merger of its parent organization with the Methodist Church.

Construction on Redeemer Lutheran Church was begun in 1951, and it was dedicated in 1952. Located on three lots at 42nd and Scott Avenue North, the church later purchased adjacent property for a parking lot and an educational building. Today, the Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church and Preschool is a part of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and is located on Regent Avenue North, near 42nd Avenue North and Scott Avenue North.

Currently located on France Avenue North, near Lake Drive North, Peace Lutheran Church held services at Loring School in Minneapolis for three years before moving to its current location. Peace Lutheran is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Faith Evangelical Free Church began in the mid-1920s in South Minneapolis, moving to North Minneapolis in 1928, where it was known as Prayer Tabernacle. In 1961, the church moved to the old First Congregational Church building on 42nd Avenue North and Highway 81 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. At that time, it became known to Faith Community Church, which was later changed to Faith Evangelical Free Church. In early 1966, the church relocated to the northwest corner of Lake Drive and Halifax Avenue North, still in Robbinsdale, where it continues to serve its membership today. It is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America.
