Saint Louis Park has several established parks and recreation areas. The Pavek Museum of Broadcasting, in Saint Louis Park, has a large collection of vintage radio and television equipment. Since 2001, the museum has been honoring area broadcasters by inducting them into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

In the interest of promoting the arts, the city has taken a number of initiatives. Each year, the city gives local artists the opportunity to display and sell their artwork on the third-floor lobby of the city hall. Through various partnerships, the city encourages the creation and display of public art in the community.

The Saint Louis Park Recreation Center includes a hockey rink, a figure skating rink, swimming pool and splash pad, and public art displays. Fern Hill Park has baseball and softball fields, basketball courts, a hockey rink, soccer fields, and paved trails. Additionally, other of its parks include various sports and recreational accommodations.

The city has an Aquatic Park, and outdoor skating is available at eleven of its parks, seven including a hockey rink.

The Westwood Hills Nature Center is a 160-acre natural area with marsh, woods, and prairie. Parking and admission are free.

The city of Saint Louis Park offers a number of recreational programs and activities for people of all ages, some requiring registration.

As a joint project of the Saint Louis Park Operations and Recreation Department and the Saint Louis Rotary Club, a summer concert series is held at Veterans' Memorial Amphitheater each summer. The Amphitheater is also open to local artists and groups who wish to perform at other times, including Open Mic Nights.

Each June, the St. Louis Park Parktacular is a five-day event featuring a parade, live music, and several games and activities for people of all ages.

Saint Louis Park school teams are known as the Orioles. Besides the sports activities associated with area public and private schools, there are several community sports leagues and teams, particularly during the summer. There are adult leagues too, including broomball, indoor volleyball, whiffle ball, softball, and kickball.

Privately operated sports and recreational facilities can be found in Saint Louis Park too. These may include bowling lanes and various entertainment venues.
