Bethany Swedish Lutheran Church was formed when Swedish settlers living near the Hill Farm gathered for worship in 1900 and was formally organized on Christmas day of 1903. A church building was erected in 1911. Services were conducted in Swedish until 1919, when they began alternating Swedish and English services.
Mounds View English Lutheran Church began as a Baptist congregation that held services at the James J. Hill School. Mounds View later became Apostles' Lutheran Church.
