Tyler, Minnesota is a small city in the southeastern part of Minnesota. This is a guide to the city.

Tyler is bordered by Marshfield Township to the north, and by Hope Township to the east, west, and south. The city of Florence is about five miles southeast, Lake Benton eight miles west, Ruthton eight miles south, and Arco nine miles south of Tyler. US Highway 14 and Lincoln County Highway 7 are the main routes through the city. The Tyler Municipal Airport is a public-use facility owned by the city.

Occupying what was then sections 3 and 4 of Hope Township, Tyler was platted in the fall of 1879, and named for C.B. Tyler, who came to Minnesota from Pennsylvania in 1857, serving as register of the US land office in New Ulm after 1873, and owned the New Ulm Herald from 1875 to 1878. A post office was established in Tyler in 1887. Incorporated as a village in 1887, Tyler became a city in 1973, when a state law declared all villages to be cities.

Tyler had a station of the Chicago and North Western Railway.

Now part of Tyler, the Danebod historic district is at the southern edge of town. Founded by Danish Evangelical Lutherans in 1885, the district includes a group of buildings dating back to 1888 and representing the oldest Danish settlement in Minnesota. Today, the district remains a largely Danish Lutheran community. The pioneers were were Grundtvigians, a faction within the Danish National Church, who believed that the Apostles' Creed, rather than the Bible, was the source of Christianity.

The Danebod Folk School hosts several programs for the community, including Family Camps and the Folk Meeting, and its campus buildings are listed on the National Historic Register.

Other Tyler events include Aebleskiver Days, which also has Danish origins. Although the county seat is in Ivanhoe, the Lincoln County Fairgrounds are in Tyler, where the annual county fair is held each August.
