Named for Samuel Hughes, an early settler in the area, the village of Hughesville is in Pettis County, Missouri. The community is located seventy-two miles east of Kansas City and sixty-two miles west of Columbia. Hughesville is accessed through Missouri Route H. The city is southwest of Wanamaker and Longwood, northwest of Newland, north of Sedalia and Dresden, east of Stokley, and southeast of Dunksburg.
