Situated three miles north of Gray Summit, Labadie is an unincorporated town in Franklin County, Missouri. Established in the mid-19th century, Labadie was named for Sylvester L’Abaddie, a hunter who was believed to have been killed by a bear in nearby Labaddie’s Cave, although another history records that L’Abaddie died peacefully in bed at the age of seventy. Labaddie Creek enters the Missouri River within the town. A post office was established in Labadie in 1855, and the Missouri Pacific Railroad once operated Labaddie Station. Labadie is northeast of Boles, and the much larger city of St. Louis is about forty-three miles northeast of Labadie.
