Liguori, Missouri is an unincorporated town in Jefferson County. Named for Saint Alphonsus Liguori, founder of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, the community is part of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area, and home to the Redemptorists and Redemptoristine Catholic nuns. The area consists largely of the monastery occupied by the Redemptorist Fathers, with its own post office, publishing house, chapel, and other buildings. Previously, the monastery buildings and grounds were known as the Cedars, a summer place owned by Colonel John O’Fallon. Liguori is situated west of Interstate Highway 55, the town of Barnhart, the Mississippi River and the Illinois border. The small town of Antonia is west of Liguori.
