Named for the nearby stream, the city of Niangua is in Webster County, Missouri. The city is accessed through Missouri Highway M and Route F, east of Missouri Highway CC. Marshfield is in central Missouri, southwest of Niangua, while the community of Susanna is east of the city, Conway is north, and High Prairie is southeast.
