Platted in 1878 and named for the Ukraine city by that name, Odessa, Missouri is in Lafayette County. Odessa is situated mostly to the south of Interstate Highway 70, which is also US Highway 40, at I-70’s intersection with Missouri Route 131, which passes through the city. Odessa is north of Lake Lafayette, east of Bates City, and southwest of Mayview.
