The unincorporated community of Peace Valley is located in Sisson Township, in eastern Howell County, Missouri. The town, and a nearby stream by this name, were named for William and Elgin Peace, early settlers in the community. The town was laid out by C. Henry Dryer, who operated the local store in which the post office was established. There are some arguments that the town was named for a man by the name of Felix Peace, known as Granddaddy Peace, who had a large farm in the valley prior to 1860. Peace Valley is adjacent to the small town of White Church. Pomona is to the east, Mountain View is north, Thomasville is southeast, and West Plains is southwest of the community.
