Racine is an unincorporated community in Lost Valley, a part of Newton County, Missouri. Situated along the Frisco Railroad tracks, between Neosho and Seneca, and about ten miles from Joplin. Other nearby communities include Belfast, Westview, and Spurgeon. Missouri Highway 86 and Route CC intersect in Racine. Situated in southwestern Missouri, Racine is near the state’s borders with Kansas and Oklahoma. The original settlers arrived prior to the Civil War, and are buried in Burkhart Cemetery, northeast of town. Although Racine does have a post office, many of its residents and businesses receive their mail through the Seneca post office. Currently, there are several churches in town, along with the post office, fire station, and a combined general store, gas station and restaurant. The Seneca School District serves the community.
