The city of Westphalia, Missouri is in Osage County. The city is accessed primarily through US Highway 63, which intersects Missouri Route 512 in Westphalia. Surrounding communities include Freeburg, Judge, Linn, Loose Creek, and Rich Fountain. Osage Bend, Wardsville, Taos, Schubert, and Osage City are on the other side of the Osage River. Jefferson City is about eighteen miles to the northwest. The community was named for the area of Germany that many of its early settlers had come from. Joe Crede, who played 3rd base for the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins, grew up in Westphalia and attended school at Fatima High School.
