Dodson, Montana is a small town in Phillips County. The town was named for a man who operated a trading post and saloon there before the Great Northern Railway came through. A post office was established at Dodson in 1891. The town hosts the annual Phillips County Fair, which bills itself as the longest running fair in the state. The town is situated in northern Montana, just outside the northeastern corner of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, along US Highway 2, east of Coburg and Savoy, and west of Malta.
