Rexford is a small town in Lincoln County, Montana. Originally, the town was situated on the Kootenai River, but when the river was dammed in the 1970s, the original townsite was flooded, and the town was moved about ten miles west of Eureka, on the northern banks of Lake Koocanusa, along Montana Highway 37. The Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail passes through Rexford, and the town lies between the Purcell and Salish mountains. Rexford boasts an Amish community, and receives a large number of visiting Amish from the East. Eureka is east of Rexford, and the international border separating Montana from British Columbia and Alberta, Canada is just north of Rexford, with the State of Washington not far to the west.
