The Sullivan County, New Hampshire town of Unity includes the villages of Unity, East Unity, Quaker City, and West Unity. After the British colonization of the area, the land that became Unity was part of a larger region that was chartered as Buckingham in 1753. Following a settlement of boundary disputes between Massachusetts and New Hampshire, the town was incorporated as Unity in 1764. During the late 1700s, the town was on the Second New Hampshire Turnpike, connecting Amherst, New Hampshire to Claremont. The town’s Unity Town Hall building was originally constructed as a Baptist meeting house in 1831, and its bell tower houses a Revere Bell.
