The borough of Bound Brook, New Jersey was originally incorporated as a town in 1869, comprised of portions of Bridgewater Township, becoming a borough in 1891. The Bound Brook area was settled in 1681, near Bound Brook Stream, which flows into the Raritan River through Green Brook, on the eastern side of the borough. The Queen’s Bridge was built over the Raritan River in 1761, which later become a covered bridge which was used repeated by both sides during the Revolutionary War, including the Battle of Bound Brook in 1777.
