Also known as Bricktown, Brick Township is in Ocean County, New Jersey. Most of the township is on the mainland, but its Ocean Beaches I, II, and III are on the Barnegat Peninsula, a barrier peninsula separating Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. The mainland and beach areas of the town are not geographically adjacent. The township was incorporated in 1850, and named for Joseph Brick, who owned Bergen Iron Works, which was situated along the Metedeconk River.
