Created by Royal Charter in 1749, Bridgewater Township is in Somerset County, New Jersey. Bradley Gardens, Finderne, Green Knoll and Matinsville are census-designated places within the township. Bridgewater is an affluent suburban township situated near the center of the county. Much of the township is flat terrain, while the northeastern portion is hilly. The Raritan River, its branches and its tributaries make up most of the township’s borders.
