Often known simply as Brigantine, the island city of Brigantine Beach is located on Brigantine Beach Island, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, with Route 87 being the only road to and from the city. Originally incorporated as Brigantine Beach Borough in 1890, it was reincorporated as the City of Brigantine City in 1897, renamed the City of East Atlantic City in 1914, becoming Brigantine in 1924. Brigantine is northeast of Atlantic City.
