Located in Bergen County, New Jersey, Elmwood Park was formerly a part of Saddle River Township known as Dundee Lake. In 1916, the community seceded from the township and formed the Borough of East Paterson, and the following year Saddle River Township was annexed by East Paterson. The borough’s name was changed to Elmwood Park in 1972. Elmwood Park is situated between the Passaic River, to the east, and the Garden State Parkway, to the south and west.
