Originally settled by Quakers in 1672, Evesham was formed as Eversham in 1688, and later incorporated as one of New Jersey’s original townships in 1798. Marlton is a historic community and village within the township, and its name is often used to refer to the township, while the village itself is known as Olde Marlton. Most maps and directional signs refer to Marlton rather than Evesham.
