Located at the western border of Lebanon Township, in Hunterdon County, Glen Gardner was incorporated as a borough in 1919, taking portions of both Lebanon and Bethlehem townships. The community was known as Eveland’s Tavern for several years, and later named Spruce Run Mills, then Sodom, the community’s name was changed in 1871 in honor of the Gardner Brothers, who built a chair factory there.
