Hackettstown, New Jersey, in Warren County, was incorporated in 1853. It was originally called Helms' Mills, and then Musconetcong, but was renamed in honor for prominent landowner Samuel Hackett, who was reported to have donated the "liquid refreshments on the christening" of a local hotel.
