The borough of Kinnelon is in Morris County, New Jersey. Established in 1922, the borough’s name comes from Francis S. Kinney, who bought five thousand acres of land for his estate, including Lake Kinnelon, in the 1880s, later building St. Hubert’s Chapel on an island on the lake. The borough includes Silas Condict County Park, covering a thousand acres, Tripod Rock, and Splitrock Reservoir, comprising six hundred and twenty-five acres of wilderness on the borders of Kinnelon and Rockaway Township.
