The city of Linden, New Jersey is in southeastern Union County. Originally formed as a township in 1861, Linden became a city in 1925, replacing Linden Township and Linden Borough, which had been formed in 1882. Linden is south of Roselle, east of Winfield, and west of the New Jersey Turnpike.
