Originally incorporated as a borough in 1889, Linwood became a city in 1931. The city is located in Atlantic County, New Jersey. Linwood is located about nine miles west of Atlantic City, and borders Northfield, Egg Harbor Township, and Somers Point. There are three named neighborhoods in Linwood: The Gold Coast, Fischer Woods, and Fischer Greene.
