Named for the Italian city by that name, Lodi is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey. Prior to its incorporation as a borough in 1894, Lodi was a township. The now defunct township was formed in 1826. Portions of the township became Lodi Borough, while portions of it became Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, and South Hackensack. The borough of Lodi is south of Saddle Brook, north of Hasbrouck Heights, east of Garfield, and west of Hackensack. I-80 runs to the east and north of the city.
