The borough of Longport, New Jersey is located in Atlantic County, on the Atlantic Ocean shore of Absecon Island. The borough is on the southwestern corner of Absecon Island, which it shares with Atlantic City, Margate City, and Ventnor City. Longport is bordered by Margate City. The streets at the southern end of Longport begin with 11th Street, as the ten streets below it have been washed out on the barrier island. Longport was incorporated in 1898.
