Mannington Township, in Salem County, New Jersey, was originally known as East Fenwick Township, although details of its incorporation were not saved. The records first refer to the township as Mannington Township in 1721, and it was incorporated as one of New Jersey’s original townships in 1798. The Salem River flows along the township’s northern and western boundaries. Mannington Township is bordered by Alloway Township, Carneys Point Township, Pennsville Township, Pilesgrove Township, and Quinton Township.
