Incorporated in 1922, the New Jersey township is located in southwestern Burlington County, bordering Maple Shade Township to the south, Cinnaminson Township and Delran Township to the west, Willingboro Township to the north, and Mount Laurel Township to the east. Unincorporated communities within the township include Moorestown-Lenola, North Bend, Northwest Estates, and Stanwick, as well as the neighborhoods of West Moorestown, East Moorestown, South Moorestown, and Downtown Moorestown.
