Mount Holly, New Jersey is the seat of Burlington County, and a suburb of Philadelphia. Mount Holly was initially formed as Northampton in 1688, and incorporated, under that name, as one of New Jersey's original townships in 1798. Its name was changed to Mount Holly Township in 1931. Mount Holly borders Eastampton Township, Hainesport Township, Lumberton Township, and Westampton Township.
