Pequannock Township is in eastern Morris County, New Jersey. The township includes the neighborhoods of Pequannock and Pompton Plains, each of which are served by different post offices. Formed as Poquanock Township in 1740, the area was known as Poquanick as early as 1720. It was incorporated under its current name in 1798, as one of New Jersey’s original townships.
