Incorporated in 1882, the township of Pohatcong is located in the easternmost region of the Lehigh Valley in Warren County, New Jersey. Finesville and Upper Pohatcong are unincorporated communities within the township. Route 122 is the only major state road that passes through the township. Interstate 78 passes through the central part of the township, while US Route 22 runs along its eastern border, and the Riegelsville Bridge is a suspension bridge that connects Pohatcong to Riegelsville, Pennsylvania.
